Sometimes a small change in downspout location can significantly reduce ice on driveways and walkways.

This customer had been manually emptying a 5-gallon bucket (notice the red bucket in the picture) because the downspout was emptying into his driveway and creating dangerous ice on walkways. We came up with a creative solution to extend the gutter and move the downspout so that it empties into the grass. Problem solved!

If you’ve got weeds growing out of your gutters you know it’s WAY past time to have them cleaned! 🌱

As the leaves decay inside the gutters they turn to soil within a couple years. This heavy soil holds water after rain and snow and takes a long time to dry out. The constant extra weight is very damaging to the entire gutter system and to the facia/siding of the house. We hauled away over 200 lbs of leaves from this house!

Good news is that the decaying leaves make for a fantastic fertilizer! Instead of throwing it all away I brought the bags home and spread it across the front yard as a natural fertilizer for the grass 🌱

We install rainwater collection systems! 💦

These systems don’t have to be big and bulky. This customer wanted something small, affordable, and discreet. We found this collection tank for her called the Madison Rain Catcher made by Mayne Home and Garden Supplies and fit her needs perfectly. It has a very simple and clever overflow design — when the tank is full (it holds 40 gallons) any excess water automatically gravity feeds into the existing underground drain through a plastic hose. All you need to do is attach a water hose to the outlet, turn on the valve, and you have instant, free, and sustainable water on demand!

And as an added bonus, the top portion of the tank functions as a planter box that automatically waters whatever is planted in it!
