Congratulations to Alessandro Gonzalez, Alexander Orozco, and Cole Shuman for graduating the High Concrete Academy 🎉

These three graduates are currently carpentry students at the Reading Muhlenberg CTC.

The Academy provides training and support needed to build a strong foundation at High Concrete Group. Over two weeks of hands-on training, they gain practical experience in precast concrete production, including safety, quality standards, and the craftsmanship involved in every project.

Ahmad Afzali, a New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) student, dual majoring in Civil Engineering and Concrete Industry Management and Summer Intern with High Concrete Group, played a key role in the PCI Project Precast competition as a member of a team of civil engineering and architecture students.

The team designed an iconic, resilient, and fully integrated intermodal transportation hub in Kansas City featuring a streetcar terminus, multi-level parking garage, and public gathering space, with precast concrete serving as the primary structural and façade system within a 48-hour timeframe.

Ahmad's primary responsibilities included construction planning, project scheduling, Gantt chart development, cost estimating, budget analysis, er****on sequencing, and coordination of the precast structural system with the architectural team members. His work helped demonstrate the project's feasibility, constructability, and efficient ex*****on while meeting key requirements for sustainability, resilience, cost, and schedule performance.

Located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, 1201 Normandy Place is a four‑story, 137,000‑square‑foot life sciences building featuring a custom architectural precast façade inspired by the structure of DNA.

We were engaged through a design‑assist process, enabling early coordination on BIM, curtain-wall interfaces, and complex cantilevered balcony conditions. That collaboration supported precise detailing and tight tolerances, resulting in a durable, high‑performance precast façade that brings architectural expression and constructability together in a highly technical research environment.

The Brownsburg High School Fieldhouse project includes a striking 80,000 square foot fieldhouse with a bow-truss roof and features three thin-brick types designed to match the existing architectural profile of the school.

We accelerated the construction schedule by approximately three weeks by assisting in converting the east elevation column covers from hand-set masonry to approximately 4,400 square feet of thin-brick precast column covers.

This reinforces precast concrete as a solution that provides architectural consistency, construction efficiency, and durability long-term.
