You’d think after all these years of doing house flips, I’d stop being surprised by the things people do in construction.

But then I open a wall and find:
• plumbing supported by a shoelace
• electrical splices wrapped in masking tape
• a load-bearing 2x4 held together by hope and drywall screws
• and somehow… three different flooring types in one bathroom

Every project starts with:
“Should be pretty straightforward.”

And every project ends with:
“Well… that’s one way to do it.” 😂

At this point I’m convinced some houses were built exclusively with leftover materials and bad decisions.

From start to finish, this one was something special.

What started as a dated home turned into a full-scale transformation—with a major addition that completely changed how this space lives and feels. These before and afters tell the story better than I ever could.

This project was a blast. The kind that reminds you why you love what you do. Challenges, long days, problem-solving… and a final result that makes it all worth it.

More than anything, I’m grateful. Grateful for customers who trust the process, communicate well, and make projects like this not just successful—but genuinely enjoyable.

All glory to God for the opportunity, the ability, and the people along the way.

Today I'm making the window sills for 12 of the 20 new windows. I find a lot of peace in finish carpentry. Watching all the pieces finally come together after MONTHS of work is definitely one of my favorite parts with these jobs.

Cut day at the house.
Today’s mission: baseboards. Instead of running back and forth to the saw for every wall, everything starts with a list. I walk the room once, measure every run, scribble it all down, then park at the miter saw and cut the whole room in one session. Fewer trips, fewer mistakes, and way faster progress.
If you’re tackling trim, try the “measure once, cut once (a lot)” method—your future self (and your knees) will thank you.
