Investing in the next generation of builders is one more way Sky Blue Builders continues to make a lasting impact in our community.

This spring, the Sky Blue Builders Scholarship helped support four students through the Denver Scholarship Foundation as they pursue construction-related degrees at Colorado State University and University of Colorado Denver.

Meet this semester's scholarship recipients:

• Felipe Narciso — Construction Engineering/Management
• Christina Martos — Construction Engineering/Management
• Damaris Rojas-DelRio — Construction Engineering/Management
• Jasmine Torres — Architecture

All four students are the first in their families to attend college and are pursuing careers in construction, architecture, and related fields.

Sky Blue Builders has proudly partnered with Denver Scholarship Foundation for the past four years, helping create opportunities for students pursuing careers in construction and related fields. We’re honored to play a small role in their journeys and look forward to seeing what they accomplish.

HUGE congrats to Julia Mata on being named a 2026 ColoradoBiz Icons & Achievers honoree!

In just seven years, Julia has helped shape the culture, workforce development efforts, community partnerships, and employee ownership journey at Sky Blue Builders. From building pathways into the construction industry for young people, to leading our CSR initiatives, to helping guide our transition to employee ownership, her impact has been felt across our company and throughout the Denver community.

We’re proud to see Julia recognized alongside so many outstanding leaders and rising professionals across Colorado.

Congratulations, Julia, this recognition is incredibly well deserved.

Today, members of the Sky Blue Builders team are participating in a panel discussion at the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) Staff Retreat in Denver, focused on ownership culture and our journey to becoming a 100% employee-owned company.

To support the conversation, we created this short video featuring employee-owner perspectives from across the company, including Mowa Haile, Lauren Grosh, Adam Tinucci, Julia Mata, Michael Chavez, and Brian Limias.

Their stories reflect what employee ownership looks like in practice — growth, opportunity, accountability, mentorship, and long-term investment in people.

Thank you to NCEO and Apis & Heritage Capital Partners for continuing to advance the conversation around employee ownership and the future of workforce equity.

As part of Construction Safety Week, our Senior Safety Manager, Julie Maxwell-Vasquez, joined KOA Radio to discuss the importance of weekly safety meetings, avoiding shortcuts, and maintaining focus both on and off the jobsite.

Julie spoke about how workplace incidents often happen when attention slips, reinforcing why consistent communication, training, and accountability matter so much in construction.

At Sky Blue Builders, safety is never secondary to productivity. It’s a core part of how we operate in complex, active environments every day.

Construction Safety Week is about more than awareness. It is about leadership in action.

We’re proud to welcome Julie Maxwell-Vasquez to Sky Blue Builders as our new Senior Safety Manager. With nearly two decades of experience leading health, safety, and environmental programs across complex construction environments, Julie brings a proven ability to turn standards into action.

From multi-project oversight to hands-on training and incident prevention, her approach is rooted in accountability, communication, and proactive risk management. This is exactly what it takes to keep teams safe in active, mission-critical environments.

Welcome to the team, Julie!

Great afternoon at Women at Work at Infinity Park Event Center 👏

Hosted by the Emily Griffith Foundation, the event brought together students, professionals, and partners focused on opening doors in the trades and technical fields.

A solid turnout from Sky Blue Builders, with women showing up to connect, learn, and celebrate the future of the trades.

Proud of the women across SBB who are helping move the industry forward every day, on our jobsites, in the office, and out in the community.

As a corporate sponsor, we’re glad to support events like this that create real pathways into the industry and expand access to opportunity.

Appreciate everyone who made it happen.

Shannon Montour and Morgan Beauregard from Sky Blue Builders were at the 7x24 Exchange Rocky Mountain Chapter Spring Program this week for a timely conversation on how policy is shaping the future of data centers.

Featured speakers Dan Diorio and Anna Lundin walked through the growing impact of local, state, and federal legislation on data center development and operations. The pace of change is real, especially here in Colorado.

For teams delivering mission critical work, policy is starting to shape how these projects actually get built day to day.

Great connecting with Brian Tinkey and others across the region and continuing the conversation.

At SBB, we are paying close attention to how these shifts are driving the need for more efficient, scalable delivery models, with a focus on responsible, sustainable outcomes.

Sixteen years is a long time to build something the right way.

Lauren Grosh has been part of this company since the earliest days, helping shape not just what we do, but how we do it. From early pursuits and job walks to long-standing client relationships and major company milestones, her influence is woven into the foundation of this company.

She helped set the tone for how we show up. Thoughtful. Relentless. Focused on people and relationships as much as the work itself.

Two moments stand out from this last chapter. The ribbon cutting for the Center of Equity and Excellence in Aviation at DEN, a project that reflects both purpose and impact. And the transition to a 100% employee-owned company in 2024, when the people who believed in Sky Blue became owners of what they helped build.

That kind of outcome does not happen by accident. It reflects years of trust, consistency, and leadership.

Lauren has also been a force in the industry, creating space and setting an example for others, especially women building careers in construction.

As she steps into her next chapter outside of Sky Blue Builders, we are grateful for everything she has contributed and the role she has played in shaping who we are today.

We are excited to see what she builds next.

Sky Blue Builders is exploring a potential joint venture with A-L3X, the supercomputer rumored to be located beneath Denver International Airport and recently featured in Paradise.

Early alignment looks promising.

We handle construction in complex, active environments.

A-L3X handles… everything else.

Still working through roles and responsibilities.

The infamous Mustang's cameo may hint at the direction of the show in season three.
