See coupling and “newer” looking ABS in crawlspace through the floor cut into wall find previous repair cut out the wye find the down stream joint on the 3x2 wye was never glued homeowner lived there for 5 years and didn’t have this work done. We all make mistakes guys that’s why it’s so important to test.

🚨 Arvada Emergency Call: A Tankless Unit With Breathing Problems

Late night call. No hot water. Rinnai tankless kept shutting itself off.

Our tech popped the cover — water heater was fine. The venting was a cry for help. Intake and exhaust weren't properly separated, so the unit was inhaling its own exhaust, choking, and locking itself out. Repeatedly. Honestly? Smart appliance. 😅

Rinnai has actual rules here: each unit needs its own intake and exhaust, aimed so the exhaust doesn't come back for a second lap. Get it wrong and combustion gases start exploring your house uninvited. 😬

So why are these all "as found" photos? 🤔

Because the homeowner went right back to the neighbor who helped build this masterpiece. No "after" pic. Just more "before."

We can fix it right. We just can't make the right decisions for everybody. Go figure. 🤷

Tankless isn't a "my buddy has tools" job. Licensed, insured, and we warranty the work.

🔥 This Castle Rock family paid twice for one gas line. Here's how to make sure you don't.

Last week we got a call from a young family in Castle Rock, CO 80104 who just wrapped up a gorgeous backyard renovation — including a brand-new gas fire pit.

Their contractor's subcontractor dug the trench and ran the gas line from the meter to the fire pit. Sounds fine, right?

Two big problems:
👉 The pipe was too small for the length of the run — it physically can't deliver the BTUs the fire pit needs.
👉 The sub wasn't a licensed plumber, so no permit was ever pulled. And without a license, one never could be.

They called us to inspect and permit the job. We had to give them news no homeowner wants to hear: the entire line has to be ripped out and replaced with correctly sized pipe — permitted and inspected this time. That means paying for the same job twice. 😞

Don't let this happen to you. Before ANYONE touches gas piping at your home:

✅ Ask for their plumbing license — every single time
✅ Verify the person AND the company at dora.colorado.gov
✅ Confirm the work will be permitted and inspected

Gas work isn't the place to save a few bucks. There's too much at stake.
