Last week, Mount Sopris Instrument Co. Geophysical Engineer Kyle Dawson led a hands-on QL40-BMR Borehole Magnetic Resonance (BMR) training for staff and students from the University of Iowa Department of Geology and the Iowa Geological Survey!πŸŒ„

The training covered theory, system setup, field deployment, logging best practices, and data processing using . Participants then put their knowledge into practice during a field demonstration at Kent Park, where the QL40-BMR was deployed in a 580-foot borehole under excellent logging conditions.

The resulting data quality was , demonstrating the QL40-BMR's ability to DIRECTLY MEASURE POROSITY behind PVC casing while maintaining very low noise levels and minimal data errors. Following the field exercise, attendees were introduced to the and NMRSA Processing modules in WellCAD to further explore data interpretation workflows.

Thank you to the and the for hosting us. We enjoyed working with the group and look forward to seeing how they apply borehole magnetic resonance logging in future groundwater and geologic investigations.
