A client once told us, "I didn't even realize how much I was trusting you until I saw this." That stuck with us.

She was pointing at something simple: the brown paper we laid down across her floors before we started painting.

Bad paint jobs don't always look bad on day one.

They look fine when the crew leaves. Then three months in, the edges start peeling, the finish looks uneven, and you're spending money again on something that should have been done right the first time.

We're currently working through a full commercial interior repaint — reception, offices, boardroom, corridors, and a photo studio that needs a flawless finish for professional use.

It rained Last week.
Most of our outdoor painting stopped.

We didn't freak out.

Here's why:

When you run a painting company long enough, you stop being surprised by rain.

You just get ready for it ahead of time.

Here's what that looks like for us at Shaker Painting:

1. We watch the weather 10 days out — always.
2. We have indoor work lined up just in case.
3. We tell the project manager right away — no hiding it.
4. We give them new dates before they even ask.
5. We built extra days in the schedule from day one.

Some people think delays = bad company.

Actually, delays = normal.
How you handle them = everything.

Our sites are back up today.
Next week looks good.

We got the bid. And honestly, we were excited for this one.

A full exterior repaints of a commercial building.

Big scope. Lots of surfaces. And people still using the parking lot every single day.

Here's how it went.

Before we even opened a single can of paint — we prepped.

Because that's the part most people don't see.

We re-caulked the windows. Sealed the joints. Filled the hairline cracks with primer. Patched the bigger holes with elastomeric compound.

All of that before the color even shows up.

Then came the painting.

Sherwin Williams Super Paint on the concrete walls. Direct to Metal enamel on the awnings, staircases, and overhead doors. Two full coats across everything.

We worked one side of the building at a time, so the parking lots stayed open. Staged our stuff at the back. Kept things clean and out of the way.

No drama. No disruption. Just work.

And when it was done — the building looked completely different.

That's the part we love most. Not the winning the bid part.

The finished product part.

We always request 10 days' notice before a painting project so residents can clear the area — it's part of how we respect the people who live in the spaces we work on.

But sometimes, it just doesn't happen.

And when that's the case? You'll never find our crew shrugging and moving on. Instead, we stopped, assessed, and fully wrapped the vehicle in protective plastic sheeting — making sure not a single spec of paint would touch it.

The job pushed through. The car stayed safe. The residents felt cared for.
That's not extra,
that's just our standard.
