We're excited to welcome two new employees to the McAninch team!

Mike Dennis has joined our Safety Team as a Safety Manager, while Aaron Sparks has joined us as a QA/QC Technician. Work is moving forward on the Soumas Avenue Improvements in Perry!

Contracted with the City of Perry, Iowa, our team is reconstructing approximately 2,700' of Soumas Avenue, providing improved paved access and critical infrastructure to nearby commercial developments, including the new JBS Sausage facility and ADR Axles plant.

The project includes 51,000 CY of grading, 2,700 LF of sanitary sewer, 2,500 LF of storm sewer, 2,700 LF of water main and services, and more than 14,000 SY of paving, including trail and sidewalk work.

With a tight project schedule, our crews and subcontractors are working hard to deliver the infrastructure needed to support continued commercial growth in Perry.

There's a lot more to a gravel pit than meets the eye! Our team recently finished the Jefferson Stripping project for Viking Aggregates, removing more than 30,000 CY of overburden and uncovering 180,000+ CY of sand at a total depth of roughly 12 feet. Completed in about a month, this project showcased the productivity of our crews and equipment, including three Case IH Quadtracs and a CAT D6 Dozer.

Work is underway at Stonebridge Plat 3 in Altoona, IA, where our mass grading crews have officially started work on this 49-lot single-family development for Cramer & Assoc., Inc.

With four tractors on site, the team is tackling 65,186 CY of topsoil stripping, 30,866 CY of cut/fill, and 137,491 CY of pond excavation to prepare the site for future homes. Every successful development starts with a strong foundation, and we're proud to be helping shape this growing community from the ground up.

At Williams Point 18 in Waukee, our team is installing the critical infrastructure needed to support a new retail center while also grading the site for what's to come. In addition to building pads for future buildings and preparing the site for the new roadway, our crews are installing 1,600 LF of storm sewer, 950 LF of sanitary sewer, 2,000 LF of water main, and an underground detention basin providing 56,734 CF of stormwater storage.

This past weekend, nearly 1,000 employee-owners and their family members joined us for an incredible day at Adventureland Park! 🎢

Our annual company outing is one of our favorite traditions because it's a chance to step away from the jobsite, spend time together, and thank the people who make McAninch what it is. Crews are making progress at Project Lion near Huxley, where McAninch is preparing the site for a new 142,000 SF cold storage facility.

The scope of work includes stripping 34,000 CY of topsoil and moving approximately 135,000 CY of earthwork. One of the more unique elements of this project has been the installation of shallow French drains—rock trenches placed on the existing grade before fill operations began—to help move near-surface water away from the site.

Heavy rainfall this season has presented challenges, but our crews have done an excellent job proactively sealing and sloping the site to improve drainage and reduce weather-related delays!

Our team is excited to be providing the site development and underground utility work for Four Seasons Plat 2, a new 18-lot residential subdivision in Polk City, IA for MJR Developments.

The project includes 38,135 CY of earthwork, 3,000 LF of 8-inch sanitary sewer, 823 LF of RCP storm sewer, and 3,573 LF of water main installation as we help prepare the site for future homeowners.
