Ever wonder what actually happens at a framing inspection? We just passed one on a whole-house remodel in Des Plaines β here's the quick version. ποΈ
Before any insulation or drywall goes up, a city inspector visits the job site to check that all structural framing meets code. They're looking at:
β
Proper header sizing above doors and windows
β
Stud spacing and load-bearing wall placement
β
Correct connections at the roof, floor, and foundation
β
Rough openings for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
Pass the inspection, and the job moves forward. It's one of those unsexy milestones that matters a lot. Good framing is what everything else in your home hangs on β literally.
We've been doing this since 1977. We know how to build it right the first time.
