Got this one ready from the ground up. Started with clearing and shaping the site for the shop, then built the pad the right way so it’s solid and ready to go.

After that, we put in the driveway and got it graded so it drains like it should and holds up over time.

A lot of problems down the road come from rushing this part, so we take the time to get it right before anything gets built on top of it.

If you’re planning a shop or need a driveway that’s done right, call us at (615) 394-7486 or email [email protected]. We cover Dickson, Burns, White Bluff, Charlotte, Waverly, and the rest of Middle Tennessee.

This was the last piece of a job we’ve been on for a few months here in Dickson.

We started out blasting rock just to even make this possible, and finished it off by getting this pipe in the ground to carry the water where it needs to go.

Once you can control the water, everything else starts working like it should.

After this, we topped it off with fresh gravel on the driveway, so it’s in good shape now and not washing out every time it rains.

It’s been a long process on this one, but this is the kind of work that keeps a place from washing out down the road.

If you’re dealing with water issues around your property, we cover Dickson, Burns, White Bluff, Charlotte, Waverly, and the rest of Middle Tennessee.

Water control is a big part of building a stable site.

On this project we installed a large culvert pipe to handle runoff coming down the hill. Without proper drainage, heavy rain can wash out soil, damage driveways, and create long term erosion problems.

This pipe redirects water safely into a nearby ravine so it moves off the property instead of across the work area. We also added rock and straw erosion control to stabilize the ground while everything settles.

Good excavation work is not just about moving dirt. It is about understanding how water moves and making sure the land works the way it should.

Another step forward on this project. 💪

Rock hammering is finally done on this one! Now we’re moving into the next phase.

• Hauling off the broken rock
• Cutting and shaping the swale
• Controlling water flow across the property
• Preparing the ground for proper drainage

A swale is not just a ditch. It has to be graded right so water moves where it should, not where it wants to. Twenty five plus years in excavation teaches you how land actually behaves after a heavy rain. That experience matters. More updates coming as we finish shaping and dialing it in.

Now's a great time to get on our schedule before the spring rain comes our way!

Hammering rock for the rest of the week. It is loud, slow, and necessary work, but it is the right way to prep a site and keep a project moving forward.

We’re still digging and hammering rock for our client’s drainage ditch conversion, and this step matters more than most people realize.

Why rock hammering is critical on projects like this:
• Breaks solid rock so proper depth can be reached
• Allows correct drainage paths instead of trapping water
• Prevents future washouts
• Creates a stable base for roads, driveways, and utilities
• Reduces long term maintenance and repair costs

Rock that is left in place becomes a problem later. It blocks water flow, causes uneven compaction, and leads to failure over time.

Taking the extra time now means the finished site performs the way it should for years, not just when the job looks done.

More progress coming soon.

Solid rock was blocking the natural flow, so we’re hammering it out to prep the area and get things moving in the right direction. This kind of work sets the foundation for long-term drainage solutions and helps prevent bigger problems down the road.

Washed out ditch line with big boulders blocking water flow. This one will be interesting to fix! The slope, the erosion, and the rock layout all need a careful plan. We’ll shape the ditch, move the boulders, and rebuild the line so water runs where it should.

🚜 Building pad for a new shop on a hillside. We brought in over 1,000 yards of select fill, added it one 8-inch layer at a time, and compacted each lift for a solid, long-lasting base.

Another job done right from the ground up. 💪
