On the 2nd day of Christmas, don't throw your wrapping paper in the fireplace! While it seems like an easy way to reduce bags of garbage, wrapping paper can easily ignite and burn intensely, which can cause a flash fire 🔥

On the 3rd day of Christmas, doing some last minute shopping? Thieves are brazen during this season. So please remember to always park in well lit areas, don't leave purchases in plain view in the car... lock them in the trunk cover in the back of your SUV, don't carry large amounts of cash and only bring the credit cards you plan to use. On the 4th day of Christmas, don't share too much on social media. While social media can be fun and resourceful, it can also make you a prime target. Sharing that you are gone for the holidays can quite literally open your door to burglars. Wait to post those vacation photos until you're home.

On the 5th day of Christmas nothing is cozier than a warm fire on a cold winter day, but don't forget your woodburning fireplace and chimney need to be cleaned and inspected every year by a qualified chimney sweep. Then you can relax by the fire worry free, while saving some $ on your gas bills!

On the 6th day of Christmas, don't forget about your 4 legged family members. Festive holiday plants like poinsettias, mistletoe and holly can make animals sick. While usually symptoms are mild, best to keep these plants out of their reach to keep them safe.

On the 7th day of Christmas, watch those packages on your porch! Deter those porch pirates by installing a doorbell camera. It will notify you and begin recording when someone comes to your porch. We can help you install a hardwired doorbell camera or battery ones are also available.

On the 8th day of Christmas are you taking a road trip to the snow? Prepare you vehicle in case of emergency. Check your tires for air and their tread. Bring chains if you don't have snow tires and 4wd. Pack blankets, water, snacks, first aid kit, matches or a lighter and a seat belt cutter. Safe travels! ❄ ❄

On the 9th day of Christmas prepare your home for holiday safety. Have a working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Change batteries in detectors if they are not hard wired. With all those holiday lights, the risk for electrical fires increases.
