Donalsonville Sod Farms is hiring!
The primary role of this position is to make sod deliveries using a semi truck and piggyback forklift. A CDL is ideal but not required. A class E Non-Commercial license and experience operating a commercial vehicle is adequate.
This is not a typical truck driving position. We routinely make deliveries in residential neighborhoods, and to new construction areas like subdivisions and apartments. This can be challenging at times, and requires a skilled operator.
Basic heavy machinery operation experience is required. We load and unload the sod pallets using a piggyback forklift. This includes staging the grass for the customers, to the customers’ preference.
Farm experience is a big plus. We are a farm so daily tasks change with the seasons. We are all capable and willing to do other jobs if the need arises. Some examples would be operating a dozier, excavator, farm tractors, dump truck, forklift, etc.
Typical work weeks are Monday through Friday, with the exception of harvest which may require more hours. We will provide 40 hours of work every week.
