Edith imagined a beach house where she could finally slow down. A place for unhurried mornings, ocean breezes, and vacations that felt like a true escape.

She also wanted her home to create opportunities: welcoming guests and generating rental income whenever she wasn’t there.

Our process began with listening. Before drawing the first lines, we wanted to understand how Edith imagined spending her days, what made her feel at ease, and how the house could support both her personal enjoyment and its use as a vacation rental.

We translated those conversations into a design that brought her vision into focus. We explored the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, the balance between gathering and privacy, and the materials and natural light that would shape the atmosphere. Throughout the process, we refined the ideas together, making room for her feedback and paying attention to the details that mattered to her.

Seeing Edith so happy with the final design was the most rewarding part. She could picture herself there and imagine others enjoying the place she had dreamed of creating.

That is where architecture begins for us: understanding the life you want to live, and giving it a place to unfold.

What would your own beach retreat feel like? Let’s imagine it together.

Kelly is a wife, a mother of three daughters, and a hardworking woman who makes things happen. When she sets her mind to something, she sees it through.

That’s the determination she brought to our first conversations about her dream home. Together, we began shaping a place that reflects her vision: elegant, sophisticated, comfortable, and functional.

A home to unwind after a long day, enjoy time with family, and welcome friends around the table.

With every conversation, sketch, and design decision, that vision becomes more tangible. And as the process moves forward, we get closer to the day Kelly opens the door to the home she once imagined. Here’s how KG House is taking shape one step closer to Kelly’s dream.

When I design a home, I imagine the life that will unfold within it.

I think about waking up, where the morning light will enter, and which corner someone will choose to sit in after a difficult day. I like to imagine that, in one of those moments, they might feel: here, I have everything I need.

In this home, the roof offers shade, the wood brings warmth, and the gardens welcome you as you arrive. These choices come from a simple intention: to create spaces where we can slow down, breathe, and restore body and soul.

I seek an architecture that offers shelter and comfort. A place to rest among living gardens, and to gather, welcome others, and build memories around a table.

I also think about what lies ahead: children growing up, routines changing, and new ways of living. A home that adapts to life’s changes and continues to feel like your own.

That is what I look for when I design: beauty you can feel in everyday life, and a home that feels more deeply yours with each passing year.

Before I draw the first line of your home, I want to understand the life you imagine living there.

That’s why our first meeting starts with 38 strategic questions.
Your answers must be honest.

We talk about your vision, your daily routines, the moments you enjoy, and how you want your home to feel.

Then, I bring your answers together in a document I call the Design Manifesto.

It captures what matters most to you, and my interpretation of how those ideas can become architecture.

Throughout the design process, we return to it to keep our decisions connected to your needs and aspirations.

Designing your home begins with understanding you.

When we first met, they were a young couple with little children, imagining the home where their family would grow.

Our conversations went beyond rooms and square footage. We talked about their everyday life, what mattered to them, and how they hoped to live in the years ahead.

There was an ease to designing together. We understood each other, shared ideas openly, and watched the house take shape through that dialogue. Each decision brought us closer to a home that reflected their needs, their aspirations, and who they were as a family.

Today, that house is built, and they are happily living in it. The spaces we once imagined together are now the setting for their everyday life and for a childhood their children will one day remember.

As an architect, there is something deeply meaningful about that: knowing a design has become someone’s home, and that the story we helped begin now continues without us. House AA

Imagine coming home and feeling the day slow down.

This house was designed as a sequence of calm, connected spaces where architecture, landscape, and natural light shape everyday life. From the moment you arrive, the clean geometry and deep overhangs create a sense of shelter, while the open views invite the surrounding greenery into the experience of the home.

Warm wood brings intimacy to the architecture, contrasting with pale, textured surfaces that reflect the changing sunlight throughout the day. Vertical screens provide privacy without closing the house off, filtering light and creating shifting patterns across the interiors.

The layout is organized around a continuous relationship between inside and outside. Generous windows frame the garden, planted terraces extend the living spaces, and shaded outdoor areas create places to gather, pause, or enjoy a quiet moment alone.

As you move through the house, the landscape is always present. Leaves cast changing shadows across the walls, palms frame the views, and the sound of the breeze adds another layer to the atmosphere.

Imagine starting the morning with coffee overlooking the garden, moving through bright, open spaces during the day, and ending the evening surrounded by the warmth of the house and the calm of the landscape.

This is what Architecture for the Senses means to us: designing spaces that connect you to your surroundings, to yourself, and to the life you want to live.

You fall in love with your home through the little things.

Morning light reaches your favorite chair as you take that first sip of coffee. You run your hand across the kitchen counter, still cool to the touch, and enjoy a few quiet minutes before the day begins.

Later, your children come through the door, filling the house with stories, laughter, and everything they brought home from their day. Dinner turns into a long conversation, and nobody seems ready to leave the table.

Over time, these ordinary moments give each space its meaning. A corner becomes your place to slow down. Around the kitchen island, a family ritual takes shape almost without you noticing. Even the sound of rain feels familiar here.

When we design your home, we imagine the life you will bring to it. We consider how light will move through your mornings, which textures will feel good beneath your feet, and where you might want to sit close to someone you love.

Because feeling at home grows through living: small moments, repeated, becoming memories.

Until one day, in the middle of an ordinary afternoon, you look around and realize… this is where you belong.

Designed across continents. Rooted in India.

This tropical-modern home was conceived from a distance, yet deeply shaped by its place, its climate, light, landscape, and way of living.

Exposed concrete gives it strength and serenity, while every shadow, transition, and open space is designed to awaken the senses.

More than a house to be seen, it is a home to be explored slowly, felt deeply, and lived in peace.

One morning, years from now, the sunlight will enter this house before anyone says a word.

Someone will walk barefoot toward the kitchen. Coffee will be made. A door facing the garden will remain open, and the morning breeze will move quietly through the rooms.

Later, the house will become movement.

Paths will cross near the kitchen. Someone will work while listening to the life happening around them. A child will run from inside to outside without noticing where the architecture ends and the landscape begins.

By afternoon, there will be a place where the heat feels softer. A chair positioned toward a particular view. A corner where someone can be alone without feeling disconnected from everyone else.

At night, the light will become warmer.

Dinner will end, but the conversation will continue. The materials will feel different under the evening light, and the house will slowly become silent.

None of these moments exist yet.

Still, this is where the design of a home begins.

How will they wake up?
Where will they naturally gather?
When will they need privacy?
Which daily rituals should remain untouched?
What memories should their children carry from this place?

The answers eventually become orientation, proportion, shadow, texture, sound, movement, and a relationship with the landscape.

Architecture for the Senses is the act of imagining these future moments and giving them a place to happen.

Because long after the drawings are finished, life will be the real architecture.

They didn’t want a bigger dining room.
They wanted a better place to be together.

This family came to me with the idea of demolishing their existing house and creating a completely new home, one designed around the way they truly live.

For them, the heart of the house was not a formal dining room. It was a large family room connected to the kitchen: an open, comfortable space where everyday life could happen naturally. A place to cook, talk, relax and spend time together.

That space also needed to flow directly into an outdoor terrace designed for barbecues, celebrations and long afternoons with family and friends.

Through my Architecture for the Senses design process, I began by understanding their routines, the moments they value and how they wanted their home to feel. From there, we created a seamless connection between the kitchen, family room and terrace, bringing together natural light, views, fresh air and the tropical landscape.

The result is not simply a new house. It is a home shaped around their family, their experiences and their way of living.

Architecture shaped by people and place not trends.

What would be the heart of your home?
