Stop 🛑 check this out ⬇️

SLC was engaged to clear multiple trees causing damage to septic lines and posing current and future problems. In addition to requiring tree clearance to prevent further damage and desiring more yard space, we also encountered a problem with eroding land due to poor root structure. Fortunately, with our specialized mixture of summer seed and fertilizer, this yard will become lush and green within a month's time.

Check out this ditch that was in dire need of a root structure and grading. SLC recognized that this ditch bank required reconstruction due to its poor drainage and maintenance challenges. We began by removing the existing turf and establishing a proper grade to ensure adequate water flow. Next, we excavated areas with excessive dirt accumulation. This process helped reduce the steepness of the shoulders, facilitating easier access for the homeowner to maintain with their mower. Upon completion, we verified the grade and installed a popular Bermuda sod.

Following years of deteriorating ditch banks and neglect, SLC implemented an expert solution to the problem.

This area underwent a major face lift after years of settling and wash outs we came in and cut the ditch back 4’ to get back inline with its natural state and built the land back up to become level with the rest of the lawn again. To make sure the water flows slow and the soil stays intact we lined the ditch with rip-rap and also used a silt fabric to ensure protection against unwanted weeds. Once that task was completed we went ahead and top dressed the sandy land with topsoil and wrapped everything up with tif tuf Bermuda sod.

SLC spent the first part of the week in Raleigh, NC tackling this nice little project for a great family!

We removed the old grass and top-dressed the red clay with quality topsoil —most people skip this and end up with poor rooting later. The grade work performed also sets the foundation (literally) for everything else, especially with drainage.

Using our famous VA cobblestone around the patio and gutters was a step in the right direction. It’s not just aesthetically pleasing but it’ll really help control runoff, reduce mud splash, and prevent erosion over time. Pairing that with brown cypress mulch in the back adds contrast and keeps moisture in for any future plantings.

Bermuda sod which was used is a great call for our area in NC. It handles heat, foot traffic, and family use really well which we are sure it’ll be put to use for—as long as it gets plenty of sun, it’ll thrive and fill in nicely

SLC received a call from a repeat client who recently had over 20 trees removed by us a month ago and is now requesting additional tree removal and property clearing and thinning for improved access to neighboring areas and other parts of their property they wish to utilize.
