If you’re in the market to seek a better alternative for primary care please reach out to Community Roots Integrative Health and Primary Care where you won’t be disappointed
🌿 ABOUT ME: Before I am a healthcare provider, I am a person — a mom of three, a partner, a dog mom.
My career in healthcare began in 2010 in emergency medicine, where I spent 12 years as an ER nurse caring for people during some of their most vulnerable moments. In 2022, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner, spending three years in urgent care before transitioning into primary care for a better work-life balance.
Each of those experiences influenced & shaped the provider I am today. Emergency medicine taught me how to remain calm, think critically, & care for the person behind the diagnosis. Urgent care strengthened my ability to evaluate and treat a wide range of concerns. But primary care showed me what I had been missing: the opportunity to truly know my patients.
It also made me increasingly aware of the limitations & downfalls of modern-day healthcare.
Modern medicine has incredible resources, technology, & expertise — but somewhere along the way healthcare became increasingly focused on volume, productivity, financial gains. Appointments became shorter. Providers became busier. And patients are left feeling unheard, rushed, or like just a medical record number or a dollar sign.
To be frank, I learned rather quickly that I couldn’t practice that way.
I’ve always believed that if you want something to change, sometimes you have to be willing to create the change yourself. So I followed my intuition & trusted my heart. Community Roots was born from that belief — a desire to bring healthcare back to what it should be: personal, relational, & centered around the patient. With personal care driven by patients, for patients, not quotas. I wanted to create a practice where there is time to listen. Time to ask questions. Time to understand what is happening in someone’s life that may be affecting their health and their choices.
I have recently also earned a Women’s Health and Hormone Certification which included 46 ANCC-accredited continuing education hours, with 21 hours focused on pharmacology. This additional training supports my work in women’s health, PCOS/endometriosis, hormone-related concerns, perimenopause and menopause care, sexual health, and whole-person treatment planning. It allows me to offer more focused, evidence-informed care for women navigating symptoms, transitions, and health concerns that are too often rushed or overlooked.
With a blend of creativity, empathy, & A LOT of heart, my mission is to restore the foundational patient-provider relationships that have been lost in modern corporate medicine. Personal. Intentional. Collaborative. And rooted in the belief that exceptional care starts with truly knowing the person you’re caring for. Thanks for stopping by!
