Finished this heat replacement today on a home in NH. This IBC Superflow Combi replaced a 50+ year old General Electric boiler with a gas conversion burner. It had been “Red Tagged” by the gas company. The Combi also allows the customer to ditch the 40 gal LP gas water heater. Now they have 1 fuel and high efficiency.

Ah, my old nemesis, the basement. 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Our war began when it flooded past my ankles minutes before my in-laws arrived to stay for the weekend. It won that round. A couple sump pumps later, and a gutter system fixed in the opening gales of a hurricane, and I had vanquished my foe. Or so I thought. But it rose again with a backfiring boiler that rocketed our CO2 levels and sent my family and me to the sidewalk. We fixed our boiler, and it limped along with us swapping parts out until recently, when it finally perished. Even as we turned our faucets on, and only freezing cold water came out (our hot water and heat ran on one system), we could hear the basement’s mocking laugh below. 🦹

It was then that we resolved to finish the fight once and for all.🤺 We replaced our system with a separate hot water heater that got our hot showerggggggggbhb (

Finished up the details on this beauty today. Superflow tankless water heater. New technology in tankless water heaters. Only 4 moving parts and some thermal mass eliminates the long wait for hot water.

When a customer calls and says “our water heater just blew up...” I usually think it’s an exaggeration... then I arrived and found this... potable water expantion tank water logged and the inside liner had started leaking awhile back. Today’s project was to get heat and hot water back to this family. 3 yr old Utica CuB boiler had a troubled life w constant resets & leaks. Customer wanted it gone. Installed shiny new DC combi... a really tight fit on this one. Stone all around!

Finished up the basement install today w the apprentice. Just us two down there! combi boiler. Supplies a garage slab and a back up air handler if the air source heat pump can’t keep up. controls/ trim.
