Before your range, dishwasher, or over-the-range microwave shows up, make sure your home is set up to code 👇

✅ Dishwashers

• Must be plug-in, not hardwired

• Requires a GFCI outlet under the sink (inside the cabinet)

➡️ No outlet = no install

✅ Over-the-Range Microwaves

• Need a dedicated circuit

• Receptacle must be in the cabinet above the microwave

• Existing range hood power is usually not sufficient

✅ Ranges / Stoves

• Require a proper outlet located behind the unit

Appliance Replacement: Important Factors to Consider delivered appliances will not be installed if hardwired Dishwasher must have a GFCI outlet under the sink in cabinet. A dedicated circuit for a receptacle in cabinet above is necessary for above the range microwave (current range hood power is probably insufficient). Ranges require an outlet behind them. Schedule this work before appliance delivery.
