PROJECT UPDATE! LIVING ROOM DETAILS
The living room will be the place to hang out. Since it’s in the front of the home, privacy is built in through the hidden shade system where the shades automatically come down and then retract, creating an easy solution that is also not obtrusive in the space. An interesting aspect of this part of the project is that an astronomical study was done in the design phase to determine which way the sun travels. And yes, John says “astrological” (hey, both work!) so this is your chance to guess his sign!

PROJECT UPDATE! TILE DETAILS
It’s all about the process once again as John explains what goes into the tile work from start to finish, including the use of “RedGard” which is a layer of rubberized coating designed to keep moisture from penetrating, a key component in this bathroom remodel.

Looks like an early summer for part of this week! Going to be hot hot hot out, so it’s a good time to bring the outside in…like in this kitchen with a nature inspired breakfast nook!

PROJECT UPDATE! MILLWORK DETAILS
Next up is talking about trimming the windows and doors, where John meets his two friends “Jack Miter” and “Kreg Jig”! All the millwork is custom made using poplar and it’s the jack miter and the Kreg jig along with the beaded casing that make everything look and fit just right.

PROJECT UPDATE! PRIMARY SUITE - PART 2
Check out these doors! Custom made and more than two inches thick, this is a good example of the advantages to setting things up in advance. All the hardware choices were made ahead of time, so the doors were able to be pre-mortised with the lock assemblies, and were finished and ready to go. John also talks trim, beaded casing, and more details on the windows throughout the home. With
