🌱 Four Common Summer W**ds in Bucks & Montgomery Counties
If w**ds seem to appear almost overnight during the summer, you’re not imagining it. Warm temperatures and moisture can create ideal conditions for rapid growth.
Here are four you may be seeing around your property right now:
Crabgrass
A summer annual grass that often takes advantage of thin, stressed, or bare areas of the lawn.
Yellow Nutsedge
Often mistaken for grass, but actually a sedge. It grows from underground rhizomes and tubers and is commonly associated with moist or poorly drained soil.
Spotted Spurge
A low-growing annual that forms dense mats in lawns, garden beds, and pavement cracks. It often thrives in sunny, dry, or compacted areas.
Japanese Stiltgrass
An invasive annual grass commonly found along wooded edges and in moist, shaded, or disturbed areas. It spreads by seed and can quickly establish large patches.

W**ds aren’t necessarily a sign of neglect. They can actually provide clues about the conditions on your property, from thin turf and compacted soil to excess moisture and shade.
