Remember when I thought it was just one layer of linoleum? Me too. Oh to be young and naive again. But no. It was linoleum, wood, and *surprise* second layer of linoleum, and I’m assuming another layer of wood between that and the original hardwood flooring. 😭😭😭😭😭

But wait! If linoleum layer #1 was hella old, linoleum layer #2 is even older, and that means possibly asbestos. Sent a sample to a laba and am now taking bets. 😵‍💫

Even when the floor was newer (still 20 - 30 years old), it never looked clean. Decided ripping it up was probably less obnoxious and time consuming than scrubbing… and found at least three layers of wood underneath, so it goes
🤢 Gross linoleum
🤨 thin layer of a weird splintery wood
😵‍💫 3-foot sections of plywood
🤯 possibly original cherry pine hardwood

Taking all recommendations to remove glue and/or thin layer of cement between top two layers. Follow me for more bad home-reno ideas 🥸
