It is coming up to our one year anniversary of actually being in business. I had thought of going into business doing construction work a number of years ago. And we as a family "brain stormed" for a name. I think this idea was actually my daughter's Simple Luxuries. In fact I have had a Journal of light Construction and a Home Depot acct in that name for over 10 years. The name came about because
we had been in Africa and had seen where our friends there regularly live with much less than we have and take for granted here in our home area of Dublin, Pennsylvania. I didn't really want to focus on building the McMansions that were all the rave in my home area at the time. Instead I prefer to work closer to the basics: not that having nice things that are well built is somehow wrong. Far from it; I happen to really love exceptional craftsmanship and artwork. But the charges to get the same is often outrageous. So back to the basics and the Simple Luxuries of life: electricity, running water, even a roof over your head that is dry! something I was working on this week as a matter of fact: roofs!
