For the past year JMF has been working with the City of Duluth on the Lead Water Line Replacement pilot program. Today we had a surprise visitor on the job site! Governor Tim Walz stopped by to discuss the lead water line bill that was just signed into effect funding an initiative to replace all lead lines in the state by 2033. This is a really good thing for Duluth residents and will also help keep and create more union trades jobs in the Northland for years to come!

It’s with a heavy heart we share this loss with you. Steve was a great guy, a great truck driver and friend. He will be dearly missed by all of us at JMF and by so many that got the privilege to work with him over the years. We will especially miss his hearty laugh that couldn’t help but make you smile when you heard it!

Steve Jon Sterling, 64, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly October 14, 2022.

One of the many projects we completed this year was the City of Superior Sidewalk Project. We poured around 40 city blocks of sidewalks. It was really nice to get the following review from the city. Thanks to all the JMF employees that helped make this job a success this year.

“Everything looks like a finished product. I wanted to say thanks for working with us and our sidewalk project this year. You and your crews were great to work with. JMF has a good reputation here with the City of Superior. I have had multiple City department leaders, and residents tell me they like what they see during the project. I enjoyed how organized JMF is, it was great to have everyone on the same page when situations came up. I could tell you or the foreman onsite and whatever came up was resolved quickly. We appreciate JMF taking our project seriously and professionally.”

Congrats to Matt Lunde on being awaded this nice jacket from the Laborers Union (LIUNA Local 1091). Matt received this in recognition for his dedication to good safety practices on our job sites working as a forman for JMF.
Thank you Matt for helping keep our employees and all of those that are near our job sites safe!
