July 1st, 1971 Tom & Sally officially began the company they only dreamed about. They moved to Duncanville, Texas in 1969. They are originally from Iowa, where they packed up and moved the clan stating the reason for moving were the harsh winters. Complete uncertainty as they carved out a new path for themselves. Humble beginnings for sure, working from their home with 3 young boys.

Scott was born to move dirt!! Dennis Ten Hagen worked with them in the early years. Tom & Sally worked hard and Scott learned everything he possibly could about operating equipment, learned to keep books, kept the tractors running, learned estimating, became the maintenance man and was even the truck driver mobilizing these huge pieces of iron!! Scott loves this company, together we make a great team!! Austin , our superintendent, computer guru and billing expert is working hard as the 3rd generation, and we’re hopeful maybe the 4th is a possibility. (out of all these grands, maybe one will have the fever!!)

God has certainly blessed us and this company, we are forever grateful!!

Last year we gave Gilbert Becton a cruise in celebration of his 25 years of service. Well, as Scott said, “that ship sank”, so we did a redo!! Thank you Gilbert for working so hard and loving this company!! We certainly do love you!
