Hey guys. Quality electricians love to wire stuff.
Before you pick up the phone and call 1-800 generac try calling a local electrician. Because a local electrician is what you're going to get regardless. Same great work, same warranty, maybe won't break the bank and go through too many hands to get the job done.
Cost of generator straight up $6,000
Cost of electrical parts and labor $2,500
All work inspected, permitted and warrantied through generac ( regardless of being a dealer or not). You may have to get somebody else to change the oil, but electrical work is what an installation of a generator is.
There are additional cost depending on where you want the generator or your home's electrical system.

Well guys Ive been doing whole home generator installs for a while. You know, the ones that do it ALL if you lose power and you dont touch anything. The ones that most folks pass by due to cost. Ive enjoyed giving folks the peace of mind knowing there loved ones will be comfortable and safe if power is lost.
Not shuffling around in the dark, hooking up un-safe electrical practices, worried about food going bad or how to keep from freezing or heating to death while you sleep.......
Truth is, I wanted to be confident about one thing before going public about my installs. Could I do it cheaper than most folks? I've realized that I can. I can give a quality install for a lot less than most. If anyone has a tree fall on their electric service wire and yank it from the house and damage the meter box, I do have some parts to repair just let me know.
it's storm related damage ,it can be repaired and inspected after the fact. and you'll be ready to go when Duke Energy cuts the power back on.
PS I'm not charging above normal rate for storm-related work. Standard pricing. Last time I checked I work Monday thru Friday anyway.
