Norroa by GreenLight Bio

Norroa by GreenLight Bio Norroa delivers science-backed varroa mite control to help beekeepers protect honey bee colonies.

Powered by vadescana and leveraging RNA interference (RNAi), Norroa targets a specific protein in varroa mites to stop their reproduction while keeping bees safe and supporting overall hive health. Field trials have shown long-lasting mite control with one treatment and no negative impact on bee health or brood production. Designed to fit into modern hive management practices, Norroa offers a new mode of action and practical, sustainable mite control for beekeepers.

Commercial beekeeping is built on long-term decisions.

Successful commercial beekeeping isn't built around a single hive inspection or one management decision.

It's built through consistent monitoring, thoughtful planning, and choosing the right tools at the right time to support colony health throughout the season.

As fall approaches, Norroa™ is one tool that can help commercial beekeepers prepare colonies for the months ahead as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) program.

What management priority is top of mind for your operation this fall? 🐝

🍂 The work you do today helps shape the colonies you'll rely on this fall and winter.

As colonies begin raising the bees that will carry them through the colder months, supporting colony health becomes even more important.

Late summer is the time to evaluate your colonies, monitor mite levels, and put your fall management plan into action.

Every healthy colony starts with healthy bees, and thoughtful varroa management is an important part of helping colonies head into the season strong.

Here's to healthy bees, healthy colonies, and a successful season ahead. 🐝

What does the research tell us about fall applications? 🍂

Research is one of the tools commercial beekeepers rely on when making management decisions.

Across four U.S. field trials conducted with commercial beekeepers during the fall, Norroa™ provided control of Varroa mite infestations comparable to an industry standard while supporting active brood for approximately eight weeks after treatment.

As beekeepers begin planning for fall, research like this helps inform seasonal management decisions alongside regular mite monitoring and other IPM practices.

What factors influence your fall treatment decisions? 🐝

Every beekeeper has a routine.

In this video, Eric demonstrates the Norroa™ bottom board application method and shows how it can fit into normal hive management.

Understanding proper application helps ensure you're getting the most from every treatment while supporting healthy colonies throughout the season.

Happy National Honey Bee Day! 🐝

Today, we're celebrating the tiny pollinators that make an extraordinary impact every day.

To most people, it's just a bee. To a beekeeper, it's so much more. It's the excitement of spotting a queen, fresh brood, pollen baskets returning to the hive, and the promise of another healthy season.

Healthy honey bees play an essential role in supporting our food system, and healthy colonies don't happen by accident. They thrive because of the dedication, curiosity, and care of beekeepers.

At Norroa™, we're proud to stand alongside the beekeeping community as you work to build healthier colonies and a stronger future for honey bees.

Tag a beekeeper who has inspired your journey, or tell us how long you've been keeping bees in the comments. We'd love to celebrate with you! 🐝💛

Back in March, Eric applied Norroa™ to this colony. In April, he checked back in to see how the hive was progressing as the treatment period got underway.

Norroa can provide up to 18 weeks of control, so stay tuned as we continue following Eric's colony and check its mite counts again in late August (approximately 4.5 months after his spring treatment).

Since then, the Norroa team has spent the summer talking with beekeepers across the country, and one of the highlights has been hearing how colonies are progressing after spring Norroa applications.

Now we'd love to hear from you.

👇 Tell us in the comments:

🐝 How are your colonies looking today?

🐝 What changes have you noticed since your spring application?

Your experiences help fellow beekeepers learn from one another, and they help us learn too. We value every conversation and use your feedback to continue creating resources that support the beekeeping community.
