After our last scorpion hunt, we started getting texts and calls almost immediately asking:

“Are you doing one more before the season ends?”

Well… YES! 😂

We’re squeezing in ONE LAST SCORPION HUNT for the 2026 season!

📍 Eagle Mountain City Hall

Eagle Mountain, UT 84005

We’ll meet inside City Hall at 8:30 PM for the required safety briefing and then head out for the hunt!

⚠️ You MUST attend the safety briefing to participate. If you aren’t at the meeting, you will not be able to join the scorpion hunt afterward.

What to bring:
🔦 Black light flashlight
🔦 Regular flashlight
🪣 Bucket
🧤 Leather gloves
👖 Long pants
🥾 Closed-toed shoes

These hunts have grown from around 30 people when we first started to hundreds of people coming out with us, and we absolutely love that this has become something our community looks forward to.

So grab the kids, grab the neighbors, grab your blacklights and come make some memories with us.

🦂 What a night, Eagle Mountain!

We had around 200 people come out for our scorpion hunt last night! Seeing all of those blacklights spread across the hillside was seriously so cool.

There were families everywhere, kids running around excited about their finds, lots of scorpions caught, and SO many laughs and smiles.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a fun night. And a huge thank you to Eagle Mountain City and the Eagle Mountain Nature & Wildlife Alliance for helping us put these events together. We absolutely love getting to do things like this with our community.

The Scorpion Hunt is happening tonight, Friday, August 14.

Join Eagle Mountain City, Mucky Boot Pest Control, and the Eagle Mountain Nature and Wildlife Alliance to learn more about local scorpions and see what you can discover with a UV light.

The evening begins with a required safety briefing at 8:30 PM at Eagle Mountain City Hall.

Bring a UV or black light, regular flashlight, bucket, leather gloves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes.

Come learn about some of the wildlife that calls Eagle Mountain home and enjoy an evening exploring the outdoors.

⚠️ PLEASE READ — THIS IS IMPORTANT!

The in-class safety briefing begins at 8:30 PM inside Eagle Mountain City Hall.

ALL participants must be present for the safety briefing. The actual scorpion hunt will begin immediately following the briefing, and anyone who does not attend the briefing will not be permitted to participate in the hunt.

This isn’t just a formality. We’ll be heading out after dark into scorpion habitat, so we want everyone to understand what we’re looking for, how to safely participate, and what other wildlife we may encounter.

WHAT TO BRING:

🥾 Closed-toed shoes

💜 Black light/UV flashlight

Meet Squeaky.
Our little homie was dropped off to us so we could take him to the wildlife rehab. People thought he was injured, but he’s actually just a healthy fledgling.
This is a great reminder that we should not touch or “rescue” baby birds unless they are clearly injured or in immediate danger. In most cases, the mother is nearby watching over them, and she is far better equipped to care for her young. Fledglings commonly spend time on the ground while learning to fly — this is normal and healthy behavior.
If you see one, please leave it alone and let nature take its course.

🦂 What an incredible night! 🦂

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s Scorpion Hunt!

We were blown away by the turnout! It was amazing to see so many families, friends, and neighbors come together to learn about one of Eagle Mountain’s most fascinating desert creatures.

From the packed safety briefing to the excitement of watching those scorpions glow under black lights, the evening was filled with laughter, curiosity, and lots of smiles. There were plenty of successful finds, great questions, and memories made along the way.

At Mucky Boot Pest Control, we believe education is one of the best tools for living safely alongside the wildlife that makes our desert home unique. Thank you for helping make this event such a success!
