It's that time. The soap box derby is a few days away. I have been busy and I am looking for friends and business's who would like to help us have a great fundraiser and also enjoy our almost famous pulled pork. I cannot guarantee your name making the sign at this point, but can guarantee you getting recognized on the official page. If you have donations you can drop it off at the fire department anytime. We will also begin our cook for the soap box at the American Legion, East Alton Il Friday September 6th around 1pm. Donations can be dropped off there.

We have been busy so I have not posted in way too long. Today I want to thank Red’s Garage Doors LLC and Riverbend Outdoor Services LLC for trusting us to install a pin pad reader on their entrance doors. This allows their secretary or office personnel to remain safe without people just walking in. They can now push a button to control who enters.

Anything can help my pal Adam Pritchett and his wife Melanie Pritchett. This is one solid couple who have worked as great small business owners in many communities. Adam has had a hard time after his stroke, and needs are help. Adam and I actually became great friends over him wanting me to come to Hi Pointe STL so he could give me a free Dazed and confused burger, because I was on a diet. Needless to say I followed his directions. Threw Kyle Stotts salad in the trash, and bought us some burgers for dinner. The fact he was willing to give me a free burger. Showed me the person he is.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.
Running a business is really hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.
People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.
Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.
You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...
There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.
Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

Yes we do card access systems. This job was in Chesterfield and a retrofit job. We set all conduit, pulled wire, cutting in all door locks. Programming was done by the customer.

When the husband wants the TV in the corner. The wife wants it flat on the wall. We found a solution for them to keep peace in the house.
