82 years ago today, the tide of history turned.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy under withering fire. Many never made it past the waterline. Their courage — and their sacrifice — broke the grip of N**i occupation over Europe and changed the course of the world.

We remember them not just for what they did, but for what they gave up to do it. Young men, most barely out of their teens, who answered the call when it mattered most.

To every veteran who served, and to every family who lost someone on those shores — we have not forgotten.

May this Memorial Day fill our hearts with gratitude for the brave men and women who gave everything so we could live in freedom, hope, and peace. May we always remember not only their service, but also the patriotism, faith, and sense of duty that carried them forward.

Proud to kick off our work with McShane Construction on new Class A apartments in Port Wentworth — starting with a retaining wall built the right way. Tight space, adjacent wetlands, and zero shortcuts. Engineered backfill, geotextile, weep drains, compacted base — every detail accounted for.

🌿 Happy World Landscape Architecture Month! 🌿

Throwing it way back to one of our all-time favorite project days — when our team hopped on a gorgeous private jet (a huge thank you to Graham Brothers for making that happen! ✈️) and flew down to Jones County Junior College in Mississippi.

The mission? A full day of campus inventory and analysis to lay the groundwork for a landscape master plan that would complement the college's big-picture campus vision. The reality? One of the most fun and rewarding days we can remember!

We were lucky enough to spend the day with JCJC President Dr. Jesse Waters, the ever-enthusiastic Buck Anderson, our wonderful friend and former UGA Interim Dean and Professor Emeritus Scott Weinberg, plus our own Julie Wynn, Nikki Taylor, Mary Charles Jordan, Bob Johnson, Trey Oliver, and Tim Lake. What a crew! 🙌

Jones County Junior College has done such an amazing job implementing those plans over the years — it's such a joy to see it come to life. And their Southern hospitality that day? Absolutely top notch. 💙

These were exciting times, and memories we treasure. Here's to the places and people that make this work so special! 🌳

🌿 Happy World Landscape Architecture Month! 🌿

At T.Lake Environmental Design, April is a month close to our hearts — because it's dedicated to celebrating the profession that drives everything we do!

Landscape architects design and shape the outdoor spaces that make our communities healthier, more beautiful, and more connected. From neighborhood parks and urban plazas to trail systems, green infrastructure, and ecological restoration — their work is everywhere, even when you don't realize it.

This month, we're shining a spotlight on three members of our team who are proud graduates of the University of Georgia's Landscape Architecture program at the College of Environment & Design. 🐾🏛️

🌱 Tim Lake, Sr., RLA — Founder of T.Lake Environmental Design and a licensed, registered Professional Landscape Architect, Tim began his career in Florida working on large-scale site development projects before building this firm into a Southeast leader. He has served on the Georgia Board of Landscape Architects and has lent his expertise as an expert witness in tort and construction defect cases — a true mark of the professional respect he has earned in the industry.

🌱 Robert Arrington, RLA — Robert started his journey with T.Lake as an intern and never looked back! Today he's a licensed, registered Professional Landscape Architect who shines in Design-Build project management and brings serious skill to landscape and hardscape design. We love watching where talent and hard work can take you! 🙌

🌱 Bob Johnson — Bob might just have the most interesting path to landscape architecture on our team! A UGA grad who studied abroad in Italy and came to us through the world of golf course management, Bob brings a classical design eye and deep hands-on experience to everything he does. He excels in Design-Build, hardscape design, and classical design — and that unique background shows in his work every single day. 🇮🇹⛳

Together, this talented trio has helped T.Lake complete projects from Tennessee to Florida and from Mississippi to Coastal South Carolina — leaving their mark on communities all across the Southeast. 🗺️

Here's to the landscape architects who help turn land into place, and place into community. We are so proud to have you on our team! 💚

It’s not often that we get to retire a legend, and we sure were honored this morning to spend a couple of hours with Larry “Pete” Butts and his wonderful wife Betsy. Never absent, always on time, and always showed up with a good attitude. We thank you for your incredible service! We will miss you day-to-day and hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest.
