A quick throwback to this laundry room, from a couple of angles we have not shown before.

Laundry rooms take more moisture than almost any room in the house. This one needed the floor rebuilt before anything else could happen. We laid new underlayment across the whole space and fastened it down properly.

A laundry floor that flexes or stays damp will keep causing problems no matter what you put on top of it. Fixing the base is the only repair that holds.

This room is finished and ready to be lived in again.
New plank flooring runs wall to wall, and the base trim went on last to close in the edges and carry a clean line around the whole room. Trim fitted tight to the floor is what makes a new floor read as finished rather than just installed.
If you have a room you have been putting off, we can take it from start to finish.

Tile is only as good as what sits under it.
Before any tile goes down, we lay cement backer board over the subfloor and fasten it on a tight screw pattern. Unlike wood, it does not swell or break down when moisture gets to it, and it gives the mortar a rigid base that will not flex underfoot.
Skip this step and the tile looks fine for a while, then the grout starts cracking along the seams. If you are planning a tile floor in a bathroom or kitchen, we can help you get the base right.

New flooring should sit in the house before it gets installed.
These boxes were staged in the room where the flooring was going so the material could adjust to the temperature and humidity of the home first. Planks that go down straight off the truck can expand or contract afterward, and that is where gaps and buckling come from.
It is a simple step that costs a day and saves you a floor full of gaps later.

Demo work does not have to mean a wrecked house.
Before opening this wall up, the floors were papered and taped and the furniture was wrapped and moved clear. Cutting into an exterior wall makes dust and debris no matter how careful you are, so the protection goes down first.
Respecting the rest of the house is part of the job, not an extra.

Most homeowners have no idea what their floor is actually made of.

What you walk on every day is usually several layers deep. The joists are the structural beams that carry the load. The subfloor sits on top of them and gives the floor its rigidity. The insulation between the joists helps with temperature and sound. And the finish floor is the last layer, the only one most people ever see.

When something goes wrong with your floor, it is almost always one of those layers underneath that is the real problem. If your floors are giving you trouble, contact JT's Home Repair.

Some repairs don't give you much room to work. That doesn't change how the job gets done.
Getting into a tight space along a sliding glass door threshold to replace damaged subfloor takes patience and attention to detail. There is no shortcut when the access is limited and the framing underneath has to be solid before anything else can go down.
The space does not matter. The standard does. If you have a repair that needs to be done right, contact JT's Home Repair.

Most people renovate kitchens and bathrooms but never think about the laundry room.
This one is getting the full treatment. New subfloor going down over the concrete, fresh drywall on the walls, and the work being done around the existing appliances so nothing has to stop while the space gets rebuilt underneath. It is one of those rooms that gets used every day but rarely gets the attention it deserves.
If you are ready to update a space that has been overlooked, contact JT's Home Repair.

Most flooring failures start before the first plank ever goes down.
Skipping proper surface prep is one of the most common shortcuts taken on flooring jobs. Old adhesive, debris, and uneven spots left on the concrete will show up in the finished floor sooner or later, whether that means bubbling, cracking, or planks that will not stay flat.
Getting the surface clean and level before anything goes down is not optional if you want the floor to last. If you want it done right the first time, contact JT's Home Repair.

Replacing a large window is not just a matter of pulling the old one out and dropping a new one in.
The opening has to be properly prepped, the framing checked, and everything squared up before the new unit goes in. Skipping those steps is how you end up with leaks, drafts, and a window that never quite sits right in the wall.
The furniture is covered, the floors are protected, and the crew is working the opening the right way. That kind of attention to the job site is just as important as the work itself. If your home needs window replacement or repair, contact JT's Home Repair.
