FUN FACT about snow, while we all are ready for spring to arrive and are over the icy roads and bitter cold weather, Snow has many benefits to spring. Snow actually holds atmospheric nitrogen wich is a important fertilizer for our plants and grass. It also acts as a insulation which can maintain up to twice the ambient temperature of the air above it. This protects surface roots and perennials wich are subject to frost heave and temperature swings that can cause water loss. Now with that said it also will help spring by slowly melting and giving our soil a nice deep even layer of moisture wich we all know is needed for our soil, grass and plants.
