When crafting gardens, I prioritize creating a harmonious balance where each plant elevates the others.
In my home woodland gardens, I've carefully chosen plants with diverse foliage and flowers to produce a captivating visual effect. The 'Vulcan' Hosta's robust, puckered leaves beautifully offset the finer, toothed foliage of Astilbe 'Maggie Daley', making both plants pop. English ivy serves as a sophisticated backdrop for the brighter flowers.
The repetition of the green and white variegation in Hostas and deep green leaves with white veining in the Ivy create a sense of cohesion throughout the bed. As this garden continues to mature, it's exciting to witness it fulfill its promise.
What do you find most striking about this garden - the color scheme, texture, or overall feel?
