So, it's officially the Holiday Season, and you may assume with all the rain we've had through the fall up until recently has replenished our reservoirs from last year's drought. That couldn't be further from the truth. Many of our reservoirs are only at 35% capacity as of early December. We're still in a drought....even though it's winter. Remember, our trees and shrubs are about 80% water and irrigation systems (if you have one) are winterized. So when those 40+ degree days come around in Jan and Feb, don't forget to head outside for a bit and give your evergreens and plants some water. Loss of moisture is the main reason plants get damaged and crack in winter and display brown/bronze foliage come springtime once everything starts growing again.......
