Before the garage became part of everyday entry and arrival, it wasn’t even close to the home.

In the early 1900s, cars lived in detached carriage houses—kept separate because early automobiles were loud, messy, and not exactly “family-friendly.” They had their own space, their own structure, and their own distance from where life actually happened.

Fast forward, and that story completely flipped.
