It's not always easy to tell... That's why it's so important to get an accurate survey for your property.

The survey will show you the exact boundaries of your land, as well as any easements or other areas where one person's property ends and another person's begins. It also shows where any structures are located on your land (like sheds and fences), so that you can make sure those things stay where they belong and don't intrude on anyone else's turf.

A survey isn't just for keeping track of who owns what in terms of physical space—it also helps protect against less obvious encroachment from neighbors who might try to extend their land onto yours by building new structures or planting trees too close to your property line. These things can lead to disputes between neighbors that could even end up in court!

If you feel you could know more about your property, contact us today about getting an accurate survey drawn up for your home.

Yes, they're all on the same geographical island!

But it's still not technically correct to say that Brooklyn and Queens are a part of Long Island.

Instead, they're both New York City boroughs. When people refer to Long Island, they're usually referring to the areas encompassed by Nassau & Suffolk county.

Are you looking at a map right now and confused about how it all makes sense? Try telling a Brooklyn native that they're from "western Long Island". They're sure to break it down for you 😂

There are many reasons why it's important to hire a professional land surveyor, but the most important one is accuracy.

Using your smartphone to map an area and mark boundaries will likely lead to mistakes in your measurements—and that's a big problem when it comes to real estate transactions.

Problems with accuracy can lead to delays in closing on your home or business, as well as problems with zoning requirements and other legal issues.

With over 60 vineyards to choose from, there's something for everyone—from the casual drinker to the connoisseur.

If you're looking for an easy afternoon trip, head to one of Long Island's wineries near the ocean, then grab some lunch and check out a few more vineyards.

If you're feeling adventurous, try a weekend road trip from Manhattan and explore some of Long Island's farther-flung wineries.

Whatever your preferences, make sure you leave yourself enough time for a little bit of everything!

It's true!

These men were all skilled surveyors before they became presidents, which makes sense when you think about how important land surveying is for building communities and establishing boundaries. The ability to survey land also plays a crucial role in determining ownership.

Land surveying is essential for anyone who wants to understand how their home fits into the larger world around them—and it's also an important part of creating plans for new construction projects.

Land surveyors are often responsible for making sure that buildings are built on appropriate sites, and that they don't interfere with any existing infrastructure.

A lot of people don't think much about what land surveyors do.

We work with a variety of clients—from big-name developers to construction companies to homeowners associations—to create accurate maps of their land so they can be sure they're getting exactly what they need in order to build or develop their property.

We also help clients understand how land is zoned so they can plan for future uses of their land without running afoul of local regulations. For example, if you own a piece of property that has been zoned for residential use but you want to open up an office building there, it's important to know whether the zoning laws will allow it before you start construction (or even before you buy). Without knowing this information ahead of time, it would be difficult for most people to make an informed decision about buying or selling property.

The Montauk Point Lighthouse is the most famous lighthouse in all of Long Island, and even all of New York State!

It's been guarding the eastern tip of Long Island since 1882, and it's still going strong. You can't miss it: it's a white tower with red trim and a green window box on top.

If you're looking for a special place to visit on your next trip out east, make sure to stop by this historic landmark!

FALSE!

The title for oldest U.S. railroad goes to The Strasburg Railroad, which was founded in 1832. But the Long Island Railroad is a close contender, having been established just 2 years later, in 1834!

But that doesn't mean the LIRR hasn't accomplished some significant "firsts" of its own. The LIRR was the first railroad in the world to operate a steel-car fleet (1905) and also the first to discard all wooden passenger equipment (1927).

For nearly 2 centuries, the Long Island Rail Road has been one of America's most important modes of transportation. At the time of this post, it operates 735 daily trains on its 700+ miles of track, which includes 125 stations.
