Sul Lago Builders LLC At the time we started we had to come up with a name in a matter of hours which is how JD Home Improvement was born.

Back in 1999 we started Sub-contracting off from General Contractors doing several projects for them all over Washington and Hancock Counties and in 2008 my wife and I started our own company. We started JD Home Improvement and after much deliberations over the nine years we have decided to change the name of our company to something that means more to us than the JD Home Improvement did. rs later we are going to be Sul Lago Builders. Our motto is that if we can't do it right we are not going to do it. We go above and beyond to ensure complete satisfaction for our customers. Jonathan's family heritage is Italian and Sul Lago means Lakeside in Italian.

Hanscom's Construction was able to break away from a massive project and do some site work. Today Dale Richardson & crew started another foundation for our next build in Machiasport near Yo Ho Head. We'll be building a 30 × 60 garage with a 12×18 breezeway. Site work along with a slab is also being done for another descent size garage in Lubec.

Windows are installed!! Loving how these windows simulate the look of the old wooden windows. The exterior of these sashes are painted green for a very nice accent. Once the doors get installed we'll have to paint them to match the windows and the metal roofing will be green as well and the siding will be pre-dipped cedar shingles that will be a drift wood Grey. It's going to be a sharp looking house once completed.

After dealing with the extreme heat conditions last week we made up for lost time and then some this week. Today windows are being installed and next week the doors which means we can pull in the electrician & plumber so they can rough-in their part of the project. It won't be long now before the interior work can begin along with the siding once the exterior trim and roofing panels get installed.

Hopefully everyone is staying cool during these well above average temperatures mixed with humidity.
We had to call quits mid day yesterday and today before any of us ended up seriously sick from dehydration. Stay cool if at possible and just remember cooler fall days will be here soon enough.

We are skipping right along in Machiasport despite the hot weather. All we need to do now is add in the ceiling joist over the bathroom, mudroom and bedrooms and then the rafters can get installed.
This is also the first project using the zip R - board so we can meet the amended 2021 energy code. This house will definitely heat & cool easily with R30 for the walls and R60 for the ceilings.
