Throwback Thursday! Celebrating 10 years of growth in the KFA design at Crescent Commons in Cortland NY. This over $26 million mixed-use project entailed the renovation of a historic building into 47 high-end lofts, 40,000 sf of commercial space, a beautiful entry plaza, and private shaded courtyard space. The plantings (specifically the shade trees) have really taken shape and grown into KFA's initial vision.

3 years of effort coming together!

More than 150 mixed-income apartments have hit the market in the Chimes Building, an iconic 12-story tower built in 1929 as one of Syracuse’s most prominent office buildings.

The $50 million redevelopment is another step in the revival of downtown’s southern end, a change that has seen the restoration of several historic buildings and the opening of Salt City Market, a food hall featuring diverse cuisines. Full story at the link in the comments.

KFA gives back! Alumni Vincent and Christian presented to the SUNY ESF Summer Science Week program about Landscape Architecture, which included design exercises and a visit to some of KFA's active downtown projects for discussion.

LOSO Lakeside is a 248-unit waterfront residential community on Oneida Lake in Brewerton, NY made up of 11 buildings.  KFA provided planning and landscape architectural services from Schematic Design through to completion, which included design of site amenities, stormwater management, pedestrian circulation, and marina access. The project required close coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers for wetland permitting, ensuring the site design worked within the constraints of the shoreline environment.

Northside Apartments in Ithaca represents a project that looks to the future. Completed in November of 2024, this multiphase $75 million affordable housing initiative of 17 new buildings, is solely electric powered and laid out to represent new urbanism concepts while adhering to state Housong and Community Renewal standards.
