The Chimera team spent this past Saturday night supporting a cause that hits close to home.

We had the opportunity to attend the fundraiser gala for the Jon Diaz Community Center, a project focused on creating measurable social & economic impact for kids and families right here in our Central New York community.

Led by Latavius Murray, it’s clear how much this means to the people behind it.

Our highlight of the night was hearing from our very own Lindsay Byrnes. It took incredible bravery for her to stand up and speak about a cause so deeply personal to her and her connection to the Diaz family. Moments like that remind you this isn’t just another event; it’s about our community and our people.

Proud of our team for being there to support the JDCC team and this mission. And yeah, we had some fun too. Casino night, good conversations, and great time together.

This center is going to mean a lot to CNY when it’s complete.

A deep freeze is forecast for this weekend, bringing prolonged sub-zero temperatures and a significantly increased risk of frozen and burst pipes - especially in unoccupied or lightly used spaces.

This is a situation Chimera deals with every winter during extreme cold events. When temperatures stay low for extended periods, even well maintained systems can be affected if conditions go unnoticed.

Freeze and leak sensors provide early alerts when temperatures reach dangerous levels or moisture is detected, giving teams the opportunity to respond before damage escalates. Chimera regularly implements this technology in mechanical rooms, vacant units, and other high-risk areas.

It’s a straightforward, proven way to reduce exposure during extreme cold.

Last week marked a significant milestone for the Chimera Integrations technical team. We are proud to announce that 15 of our technicians and engineers have officially earned their factory certification in Avigilon Unity Video.

This certification is a major achievement for our staff. It confirms that our team has the advanced proficiency required to engineer, program, and install these complex enterprise-level camera systems to the manufacturer’s highest standards.

Our participants traveled to our Syracuse headquarters from across New York State, including Plattsburgh, Watertown, Massena, Albany, Rochester, and Binghamton. By investing in this training, we have ensured that our customers in every one of these regions now have access to factory-certified local support.

We want to extend our gratitude to our instructor, Matthew Fowler from Motorola Solutions, for his expert guidance throughout the course. We also appreciate the wider Motorola Solutions team for their support during the week and for generously sponsoring a dinner for our crew. It was a pleasure to unwind and strengthen our partnership outside the classroom.
