Construction continues to make great progress on the new Residential Center at The Benedictine School in Ridgely, Maryland, with Willow Construction and its trade partners working throughout the facility as interior finishes and building systems advance.

Recent work has included tile installation in the administrative areas and main corridor, along with continued drywall finishing, painting, epoxy flooring, and ceiling work. In the kitchen, FRP wall panels have been completed and crews are preparing for ceiling grid installation.

Behind the scenes, the building’s major systems are progressing as well. HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression crews continue working throughout the facility, with new lighting and fire alarm components being installed, plumbing fixtures and equipment moving forward, and sprinkler piping and heads being completed in additional areas. Exterior work is continuing too, including gutters, downspouts, and other roof drainage details.

With finishes going in and building systems moving toward completion, the new Residential Center is looking more like a finished living environment every day. Willow Construction is proud to continue working alongside our trade partners to create a welcoming, high-quality space that will support Benedictine’s mission and the individuals it serves for years to come.

There’s been plenty of visible progress at the Lightkeeper’s Village Clubhouse in Lewes, Delaware, as Willow Construction and its trade partners continue bringing the new community amenity space to life.

Since July 1, one of the biggest changes has been above ground, where framing crews have completed much of the wall framing and are now preparing for the next major step. Crews have been checking walls for plumb, adding bracing, correcting openings, and laying out and staging roof trusses in preparation for installation.

Work on the community’s 22' x 52' swimming pool has also reached an exciting stage. After earlier excavation, underground work, and rebar installation, crews recently completed the shotcrete shell, removed the forms, and are now connecting light conduits and completing backfilling and compaction around the pool.

Masonry work has progressed as well, with crews constructing the clubhouse’s exterior CMU fireplace—another feature that is beginning to give the new amenity space its character.

These latest developments build on earlier work that included foundations and slabs, underground plumbing and utilities, and initial pool construction. With walls standing, roof trusses being prepared, the fireplace taking shape, and the pool shell now in place, there’s a lot to see at Lightkeeper’s Village. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!

Inside the clubhouse, crews have been working on painting, trim, cabinetry, hardware, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. Recent progress has included the installation of new light fixtures, toilets and sinks, along with continued cabinetry and finish carpentry as more interior spaces take shape.

Outside, siding and trim work has continued on the clubhouse, screened porch, towers, and boathouse, while crews have also been advancing exterior tile work, front entry details, sidewalks, and other site improvements around the property. Work around the pool and amenity areas is moving forward as well.

With so many details progressing at once, The Crest at Channel Pointe continues to evolve into a distinctive coastal gathering place. We’re proud of the work being completed across the project and look forward to sharing more progress along the way.

Construction continues to move forward at the new Vetagro facility in Easton, Maryland, with crews making progress across nearly every area of the site.

Recent work has included continued installation of platform grating at the cell steel, while exterior crews have advanced the office façade with the application of the final color coat. Roofing and building-envelope work is also progressing, including roof curbs, gutters, and flashing.

Inside, mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems continue to take shape. Crews are working on gas piping and unit-heater venting, installing exterior wall packs, cable tray supports, and lighting, and extending sprinkler piping throughout Area B. Drywall installation and finishing are also progressing in the office areas, while concrete crews have been completing interior curbs and infill work.

Sitework remains active outside the facility as well, including installation of rain leader piping and underground connections behind the lab.

With exterior finishes advancing and building systems, interior spaces, and site improvements all moving forward simultaneously, the Vetagro facility continues to take shape. Willow Construction is proud of the progress being made alongside our trade partners and looks forward to sharing more as this exciting project moves closer to completion.

Staff Spotlight: Justin Gunter, Project Engineer

At Willow Construction, we're proud to have team members who bring curiosity, integrity, and a passion for learning to every project. This month, we're highlighting Justin Gunter, one of our Project Engineers, whose thoughtful approach and eagerness to grow have made him a valued member of the Willow team.

Justin's path into construction began with a desire to combine creativity with practical problem-solving. While his interest first started with hands-on residential construction, he found that commercial construction management offered the opportunity to apply creative thinking to the many challenges that come with managing complex projects. His journey with Willow also started unexpectedly—after making a phone call inquiring about a laborer position, he was instead encouraged to interview for a Project Engineer role.

In his day-to-day work, Justin manages project communications and documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other critical project details that help keep jobs moving forward.

During his first year with Willow, he's especially enjoyed working on The Benedictine School Residential Center, where he says he's gained a deeper appreciation for how every stage of construction contributes to a successful project.

What Justin values most about Willow is the integrity of the people he works alongside and the trust the company places in each employee. He also enjoys getting to know the many subcontractors, owners, and project partners he meets on each job, believing that every conversation offers an opportunity to learn something new.

Looking ahead, Justin plans to return to college to earn bachelor's degrees in business and psychology, with additional interests in political science and history. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking with his partner, exploring new restaurants, watching movies and live theater, painting, writing, gaming, and insists he runs a pretty mean game of checkers—even if he'll admit it's no chess.

Around the Willow office, there's also an ongoing joke that Justin bears a striking resemblance to Sgt. Walter "Radar" O'Reilly from M*A*S*H—at least according to Willow President Eric Milhollan. We'll let you be the judge!

Another fun fact? Justin was born three months early and jokes that he "still wound up this funky."

Congratulations, Justin, on celebrating your first-year milestone at Willow Construction. We're grateful for your dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to learning, and we're excited to see all you'll accomplish as part of the Willow Construction team!

🏗️ Project Update: Coastal Community Church | Berlin, MD

We've gone vertical! Construction at Coastal Community Church has reached an exciting milestone as the project transitions from foundation and site work into vertical construction. After months of preparing the site, installing underground utilities, and completing concrete work, the building is now beginning to rise, offering a clear glimpse of the future home for this growing congregation.

Over the past several weeks, structural steel has become the primary focus, with crews erecting and plumbing steel columns across the building and recently using two cranes to set additional structural steel. Work has also progressed at the building's west entrance as the structural framework continues to take shape. At the same time, site crews have remained busy grading parking areas, installing and repairing storm drainage infrastructure, resetting catch basins, and completing other site improvements that will support the next phases of construction.

With the building's steel frame now reaching skyward, the vision for Coastal Community Church is becoming more tangible every day. Willow Construction is proud to partner with Coastal Community Church to create a welcoming space that will serve its congregation and the Berlin community for generations to come.

🏗️ Project Update: Wilson’s Cove Luxury Boutique Hotel | Stevensville, MD

Wilson’s Cove is entering an exciting stage of construction as interior finishing, furnishings, landscaping, and exterior amenity work continue to bring the luxury boutique hotel closer to completion.

Inside, crews are completing millwork, painting, wall coverings, and final accessories throughout the building. Furniture, rugs, artwork, shelving, and balcony furnishings are also being installed, giving guest rooms and shared spaces their finished character. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, and elevator systems continue to be tested and brought online, while final details such as shower doors, door hardware, and lighting are completed.

Outside, significant progress is underway around the pool and surrounding grounds. Glass panels are being installed along the pool wall and upper-level areas, while crews prepare and pour concrete slabs, complete underground electrical work, and coordinate handrails and other pool-deck features. Landscaping is also transforming the property, with new plantings and sod installed along the east side of the hotel.

With finishes taking shape indoors and the surrounding site coming together, Wilson’s Cove is quickly becoming the distinctive waterfront destination envisioned for this property. Willow Construction is proud to continue working alongside its trade partners to deliver a thoughtfully crafted hotel that will offer guests an exceptional Eastern Shore experience.
