and sometimes there is no saving the grass you just have to rip it out and put a patch in. we are in winter season so the grass is going into its dormant stage and not as vibrant and green as it would be in spring but I still think it turned out as expected. whatever you do please don't forget if you're laying sod to put topsoil over any cracks and along any edges of the grass that's exposed to protect the root system!

this was a fun beautiful project it never feels like you're at work when you're on the beach! we had to wait till after turtle season but the boardwalk got torn out by a past hurricane and they just wanted to extend it to the proper 15 ft it was. as all landscapers know in the winter time it's much more than cutting grass to survive.

this was another client that wanted a grilling area they had an existing wooden deck down and they were in fear of having a fire hazard underneath their grilling area. we recommended an alternative design that would ease their attention and allow them to sleep peacefully at night.

this was a job that the house sold a month earlier than planned. in a mad rush the team here at Green Beach lawn Care happened to pull off a five zone irrigation and 15 pallet layout in the span of 3 days! overall I think it turned out really well there's still some things that need to be done like adding landscape beds and plants to give it that colorful pop that it well deserves. keep coming back for updates next week

🍑 August is the perfect time to give your fruit trees a strategic summer trim—especially if you want healthier fruit and better yields next season.

Here’s what to cut and why it matters 👇

🍏 1. Apple Tree
→ Why: Opens the canopy for more light, shapes future growth
→ Prune: Crossing branches, water sprouts, and weak limbs

🍑 2. Peach Tree
→ Why: Encourages fruiting wood and reduces disease pressure
→ Prune: Upright shoots (water sprouts) and overextended limbs

🍐 3. Pear Tree
→ Why: Improves airflow and prevents limb breakage
→ Prune: Suckers at the base, crowded interior growth

🍒 4. Cherry Tree
→ Why: Keeps tree compact and productive
→ Prune: Crossing limbs, deadwood, and small upright shoots

🍊 5. Orange Tree
→ Why: Promotes even fruit ripening and disease control
→ Prune: Dead twigs, tangled inner branches, and weak shoots

🍇 6. Fig Tree
→ Why: Prevents overcrowding and keeps energy focused
→ Prune: Inward-growing branches and suckers at the base

🍋 7. Lemon Tree
→ Why: Encourages airflow and keeps shape compact
→ Prune: Lower branches, suckers, and dead wood

🍈 8. Plum Tree
→ Why: Strengthens structure and prevents overgrowth
→ Prune: Thin crowded limbs and remove damaged wood

🍊 9. Apricot Tree
→ Why: Improves light pe*******on and fruit set next year
→ Prune: Water sprouts and old interior branches

🌿 Avoid pairing these plants to prevent stunted growth, pest issues, or competition for nutrients.
• Corn and tomatoes attract the same pests, like corn earworms.
• Peppers and cabbage can slow each other’s growth due to incompatible soil needs.
• Sage inhibits cucumber development.
• Potatoes and zucchini both demand heavy nutrients and space—leading to overcrowding.
• Carrots and parsnips compete underground, reducing yields.
• Beans release compounds that can harm onions.
• Fennel disrupts eggplant root development.
Plant smart to keep your garden thriving!

Late summer doesn’t mean it’s too late to grow! These veggies and flowers thrive when planted now:
• Leafy greens like arugula, kale & chard love cooler temps
• Root crops (carrots, radishes, turnips) thrive in late summer soil
• Brassicas—like broccoli & cabbage—need a head start now
• Quick herbs & veggies: peas, green onions, dill, cilantro
• Add fall color with marigolds, nasturtiums, and calendula
• Perfect time to plant for harvests into autumn

🌻 Extend the season—late summer is just the beginning
