5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT BLOCK SEAWALLS:
🔹 It’s built from interlocking concrete blocks. Block seawalls are stacked course by course from precast units that are machine-placed, so the wall goes up in a clean, consistent pattern. We offer two products: Novum and Belgard.
🔹 The look is yours to choose. Novum comes in three face textures, from formal to rugged fieldstone to irregular stacked stone. Belgard offers faces from smooth and contemporary to tumbled, chiseled, or stacked stone, in several color blends.
🔹 What’s behind the wall matters as much as the wall. Free-draining aggregate backfill lets water move through instead of building up, and reinforcement like geogrid is added during backfill where the design calls for it.
🔹 Novum blocks are wet-cast. Novum says the wet-cast process reduces porosity, so less water gets into the block, and its data sheet lists resistance to freeze-thaw and submersion in fresh or salt water.
🔹 It’s sized for tight lake lots. Novum’s blocks are small enough to be placed with compact equipment like a mini-excavator or skid-steer, which helps on shorelines with limited access.
Comment below: if you could pick the face of your seawall, would you go smooth and modern or stacked stone?
