So the alarm went off at 4:29am today. We agreed to donate & provide generator power at the Swim Across America at Menemsha beach this morning. Two MVRHS students took on the the task of sponsoring and managing this monumental task. Zoe Trietman and Leah Thompson made a huge difference in the world of cancer research today. Raising WELL over $300,000 in the inaugural year of this swim challenge on Martha’s Vineyard was nothing less than impressive.
As Rachel and I drove bleary eyed from Vineyard Haven to Menemsha this morning I couldn’t help but think how cancer treatment patients had to drive to the boat for their multi hour trip to Boston for treatment. It really made me think. What a great organization, and more importantly, what a great group of Vineyard volunteers involved in this endeavor.
