Debris info from the city
With the weekend coming, many residents will be continuing their clean up from Hurricane Ian. The City has been divided into five Damage Assessment Zones, also having sub-sections. The areas were created to assist the City in systematically evaluating damaged areas after a significant storm event. Each area and sub-section does not necessarily identify the order in which debris will be collected. Some areas and zones were impacted more significantly than others, creating higher volumes of vegetative and construction and demolition materials. Thus, some will take longer to address than others.
The City's contracted debris hauler, Crowder Gulf, is making progress in the first round of vegetative debris. This will be a 7 day a week operation for at least the first 30 days with 4-6 trucks on the roads each day. The pick up of this volume and type of debris is slow and can be difficult so we appreciate your patience as these crews work as safely as possible.
Please remember to separate vegetative debris from other debris like appliances and construction material and to NOT bag any debris.
The link below will take you to the City's "Debris Clearing Status Dashboard" so you can track the progress of the debris pick up:

There will be two passes of vegetative debris pick up and one in the coming weeks for all other debris in order to give residents/contractors ample time to do demolition work.
