We were contacted after one of the local homeowners had this roof installed by a roofing contractor from the Roach area wouldn’t come back to repair their roof leak. Unfortunately a common issue in the lake area, one because some self proclaimed contractors are just trash and the bigger issue I see is companies coming from 2 hours away for work and not wanting to come back to stand behind their product.
This one’s a local a roofing contractor that simply just doesn’t care about his reputation nor the product his company installs. This is a perfect example of said scenario.
Now mind you this house has more way roof venting than needed, but if you’re going to eliminate venting it should not be the vented ridge, but they did because it’s not reusable. Instead of installing new they just install ridge cap over the gap in the ridge of the house, which with out structure it causes the shingles to lay flat. This will not deflect water and the water goes into the house rather than drain off the roof. This contractor saved around 300.00 and has been in the field long enough to know this would leak and didn’t care.
I know it’s made out like roofing can be done by anyone, but the roof is literally the most important part of your house. When hiring a contractor look them up on google, yelp the better business bureau. You’ll save yourself money in the long run by hiring the right contractor.
