One of my roses, pruned. All leaves stripped. All dead wood and stubs trimmed. All canes smaller than a pencil and all crossers removed. This is an extremely vigorous rose I only prune once a year. I took the height down pretty dramatically this year so the ceanothus in center will get more sun. Some roses need a gentler touch.
