Oftentimes, properly scheduling lead times becomes an important factor for all Project Managers. It's from that same planning that they're able to keep up with deadlines and stay within budget. However, missed lead times can equal missed deadlines, cost overruns, and unhappy stakeholders - ouch.

So, be sure to estimate lead times accurately, build in buffers, communicate with stakeholders, and be proactive.
