El Campo Derby Doll Booster Club "Once a Doll, Always a Doll" HOW THE DERBY WAS BORN! The Derby hats were first worn in 1967 as the El Campo Ricebirds made the State football finals.

Phil Zlotnick (Zlotnick's Dept. Store) first bought five red Derby's to sell in the finalist race. He increased the orders by 100's each week as the Ricebirds went into play-off's, Bi-Dist, Silsbee, Seguin, and State-Brownwood. His final order was over 5,000 for the Brownwood game. Maggie Little took Phil's Derby home from the first game and made the sequin band. When the Derby Doll's were organiz

ed in 1970 the title stuck. Phil's daughter, Terri was in the group for three years until she graduated in 1974.

The Derby Dolls Booster Club is excited to kick off a new season, and we’re reaching out to our amazing community for support!

Throughout the year, our booster club helps provide essentials for our Dolls, meals before games, scholarships, team support, and so much more. These opportunities are made possible because of the generosity of local businesses, families, and community members who believe in our girls.

This Friday, our Derby Dolls will be out in the community, proudly representing their team and graciously seeking sponsorships and donations for the upcoming season. The Dolls are proud to present the family of Nicole our first Nicole Priesmeyer Memorial Honorary Derby Doll Award❤️
Nicole was a pillar to the Derby Doll organization, creating the Jenna Zabodyn Honorary Derby Doll Award and now her namesake will be carried on.
Nicole will be forever missed but never forgotten as her legacy continues on!
