It's so fun seeing a project come to life and the excitement for a family as they get to enjoy their new space. This project in Redwood City reconfigured a small 2 bed, 1.5 bath home and added a Primary Suite. The new 3 bed, 2.5 bath layout meets the needs of this family of 4 so much better! Congrats to my Clients, and thank you for trusting me with your home!

It has been an incredibly busy fall so far, and I'm excited about all the new projects on the boards and starting construction. Coincidentally there are four projects within a half block in Moss Beach. Here is a picture of the foundations on a new build that is next to a home renovation project I just measured. It's fun getting to observe construction from a different perspective!

Let's talk about ADUs!

California state laws have evolved in recent years to make it easier to build Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), or "granny units." Incorporating an ADU into a project offers several benefits, such as the ability to exceed standard lot coverage and floor area limits established by local regulations. ADUs can provide a source of rental income, making it more affordable to live in areas with a high cost of living. They also add value to a property and offer versatile usage options, such as multi-generational living, a home office, gym, guest suite, or Au Pair apartment.

Take a look at this newly constructed detached ADU we designed for a client in Hillsborough, currently being used as a home theater and multipurpose entertaining space. Share your ideas in the comments on how you would use an ADU!

To say we don't spend much time on social media is an understatement. I guess it's time for an update! The website has been refreshed with some new projects now that we are finally starting to get completed work photographed again. Lots of interesting projects are in the works, including designing a fire access road in steep terrain in order for a small group of land owners to be able to build on their land. High interest rates and inflation caused a lot of uncertainty in the market for a while, but it seems like the initial shock has worn off and there is a lot of interest for new projects. We look forward to sharing more exciting homes that have been completed as they are professionally photographed.
