The Gutter Problem You Can’t See From the Ground
Your gutters can look perfectly fine from the ground and still have a problem.
That’s what makes some gutter issues so easy to overlook.
A gutter system can develop subtle problems with its pitch, seams, fasteners, or water flow without showing obvious damage. You may not notice anything on a sunny day, but the next heavy rain can reveal water overflowing from one section, running behind the gutter, or collecting too close to your home.
The key is to watch what happens when it actually rains.
Are water and runoff moving through the gutters the way they should? Is one section overflowing while the rest is working normally? Are you seeing water stains or unusually wet areas around the exterior?
These small signs can tell you much more than the gutters’ appearance alone.
With fall approaching, take a closer look during the next heavy rain. Your gutter system may be telling you something you can’t see from the ground.
When was the last time you watched how your gutters handle heavy rain?
