Yesterday, our students had an amazing day learning about gun safety, state laws, su***de prevention, and pistol marksmanship in our Maryland and Delaware HQL Basics of Pistol Shooting course. Now they have the training to be informed, responsible firearm owners. As a safe fi****ms owner, training never stops. Look out for our upcoming July CCW course that will cover MD, NJ, DE, and PA. We would like to extend congratulations to Michael on his outstanding achievement in the ultra-heavy men's division at Tap Cancer Out Baltimore, where he won his first Jiujitsu tournament on Saturday, May 9th. Having joined Team Garuda a mere three months ago with no previous jiujitsu experience, Mike's focused preparation allowed him to overcome opponents with significantly more experience on the mat, exemplifying the impact of disciplined judo/jiujitsu training on personal growth and potential.

Course Details:
"NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting" is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This course meets & exceeds the 4 hour MD and DE HQL requirements. We cover MD and DE Fi****ms Law & the Application Processes for obtaining a handgun & HQL. Our NRA "Gold Standard" Certified Instruction team will teach: gun safety rules, Home Firearm Safety, proper operation of revolvers & semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge & selection, pistol selection & storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection & maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Students will complete live-fire personalized training & a nationally standardized shooting qualification (100 rounds) while on the range with Certified Instructors. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Exam & receive an NRA course completion. *** Venmo $100 Deposit to and email with any questions.

One of the absolute highlights for the Garuda Martial Arts team at last weekend's Garden State Judo Classic tournament was the opportunity to connect with Coach Sauveur Soriano and the elite Army West Point Judo Club team. 🛡️⚔️

Coach Soriano is a true legend in the Judo community, and his distinguished honors speak to his lifelong dedication to the "Gentle Way." A certified Judo Master Instructor through the prestigious French Judo Federation; the former French Olympic team coach; and current West Point Military Academy head coach. , he has competed at the highest international levels and now brings that world-class expertise to training the future leaders of our military at West Point. Meeting someone with his caliber of technical skill and spirit was an honor for our coaches and students alike.

Seeing the Army West Point team in action was a reminder of what discipline, respect, and hard work can achieve. It was a weekend filled with great matches, but more importantly, it was about the brotherhood and sisterhood we share on the mats.

Stay tuned, Garuda family—this might just be the beginning of something special! We’re already discussing some exciting future collaborations and joint events with Coach Soriano and his team. You won't want to miss what's coming next!
