At Jones College Workforce College, our Welding students are learning more than just how to run a bead — they’re learning how to solve real-world problems. 🔧🔥

Recently, students put their skills to work by building a custom storage box for scrap conduit from the Jones College Electrical Technology lab. The discarded conduit couldn’t be thrown away in a regular trash bin, so our Welding students stepped in and created a practical, durable solution.

It’s great to see students collaborating, applying their hands-on training, and making a positive impact right here on campus. That’s what workforce training is all about — building skills that build solutions. 💪

I really big thank you to the Workforce Welding class for building this conduit container. The ELT students go through about 3000’ of conduit in a 5 week class. With us now having this bin, we can now dispose of it in an easier way.

Fall Semester is off to a great start. 42 new Freshmen this Fall. AC/DC class is calculating and measuring simple circuits. Fundamental of Electricity is learning ladder safety and the proper technique to pull up hand tools with a rope. It’s the simple things that we teach that go along way with employers. We looking forward to a great semester.
